Hon. Colonial Secretary,
The behaviour of P. Law the clerk in the
Attorney-General's office has become unendurable.
Yesterday afternoon he left the office at about 3 o'clock and has given no reason for his absence. Today he sent in the attached paper. I sent for him and asked him in the presence of Mr. Fletcher for his reasons. In the most im- -pertinent manner possible he declined to give any reason and
said he had a right to leave without giving reasons. He further
said that if I asked for reasons he would resign. I told him to send in his resignation,to you and I suggest that it should be accepted. I have found his conduct unsatisfactory ever since I
have been in this office.

Ag. Atty.-General.
